About Us
Located in Board of Education District 8 and KCS Region 3, East Knox County Elementary School is nestled on the eastern outskirts of Knox County in Mascot, Tennessee.
Established in 1978, East Knox was built to consolidate and replace four former community schools: Skaggston Elementary, John Sevier Elementary, Mascot School, and Clear Springs School. Originally serving students in kindergarten through 8th grade, the school has since evolved alongside the Mascot community—a town historically known for its zinc mining industry in the early 1900s. Today, Mascot is a primarily residential area, and East Knox County Elementary now serves approximately 490 students in Pre-K through 5th grade, supported by a dedicated staff of around 80 professionals.
East Knox is dedicated to fostering a community of purposeful learning that nurtures the whole child—body, mind, and spirit—by working collaboratively to ensure every student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.
